Profile: Solomon
A New Series.
In this SERIES, we're going to be creating a profile of Bible characters.
Instead of studying a book of the Bible and a chapter, I wanted to do a profile on Bible characters.
Usually, I read the Bible as another book, verse, or paragraph to be studied. But this time, I wanted to do something a little different.
I wanted to👀see life through the eyes of my Heroes of the Bible.
I also wanted the reading to be short and sweet, everything I need to know about my Bible characters in a nutshell.
For example, back in my day, you pulled out your index cards if you were cramming for a test. And everything you needed to know to study for that test was on the back of that card.
There's nothing wrong with studying, but in too much knowledge comes exasperation; Ecclesiastes 1:18.
Truth be told, I'm tired of studying, I just want to read something that's brief, and gets to the point. That's why I'm trying to keep it short and sweet.
Profile: Solomon
Now, let's do a profile on Solomon's life.
Let's look at the LOGOS "divine reason or word of God."
Solomon is born: 2 Samuel 11:1-27; 2 Samuel 12:1-25.
Solomon becomes king: 1 Kings 1:28-53; 1 Kings 2:1-9.
Solomon requests wisdom: 1 Kings 3:1-15; 1 Kings 3:16-28.
Solomon administration: 1 Kings 4-10.
Solomon's heart turns from the Lord: 1 Kings 11:1-43.
What did Solomon learn throughout his life that compelled him to write the book of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs, Song of Solomon?
What did we learn from this Bible character?
Here comes the RHEMA WORDS, which are the "spoken word of God."
Solomon learnt that in the book of ECCLESIASTES that money can't buy you happiness and peace with God. The Bible says the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and add no sorrows with it; Proverbs 10:22. Nothing wrong with being rich or having power, prestige, popularity, and pleasure. But nothing can fill the God-shaped void in your life; despair melts away when life is viewed as a daily gift from God.
After killing Uriah to have sex with Uriah's wife, King David almost lost his kingdom. In the book of PROVERBS, Solomon learned to gain wisdom from his mom and dad after hearing what his father, David, went through; Proverbs 1:8:9.
And in SONG OF SOLOMON; Solomon learnt; better to have one wife, who loves the Lord with all of her heart; Proverbs 31:1-31. Then, he had 700 wives and 300 hundred concubines that turned his heart away from the Lord.
