My Weight Loss Journal
Once upon a time! What had happened was…
Nothing Wrong with Being Fat: What a Girl Look Fat song by Papasan.
It’s just that I’m tired of being “Big Boned” smile! The word big bones means “large,” but not fat.
It just dawned on me; I’ve never seen a skeleton💀☠️with big bones.
So, I decided that I want normal size bones, smile🤣. Normal size bones: Girl, you’re something else, you’re very funny…Laugh Out Loud.
So here goes: I’ve started my weight loss journey. I struggled for years to lose weight; I tried everything. I tried for years; yo-yo effect, up, down, lose it, gain it again.
I just couldn’t put down the chocolate cake😋the sweets, the carbs, etc.
You see, I grew up on sugar cane or raw sugar. All day long, sucking on sugar cane as my baby food. The sugar cane became my baby🍼bottle.
If we were hungry, back where I came from. The parents would hand the kids sugar cane to suck on and send the kids outside to play. I grew up on sugar. They say that’s what makes me so sweet; she’s a sweet girl.
Anyway, back to what I was saying. I tried for years to lose the weight. But then, one day, it dawned on me that I never asked God to help me.
So, I went to my Father God, and I said. “Abba, I’m sorry, I should’ve asked you for your help with losing this weight; I know you would want me to take care of my body. I need your help to stop eating all this food. Please help me with my food portion sides, and to eat in moderation and eat less sugar.”
I don’t just want to diet. And I definitely do not need to fast. I just want to take good care of my temple(body)by using good stewardship with what you have given me.”
I don’t have a problem with emotional eating; it’s just that I love sugar. Sugar on top of sugar, sugar on top of everything; add more sugar, it’s not sweet enough, I’ll say.
And now that I’m trying to eat healthily. I never noticed before that there is so much sugar in everything, which means that I have to keep track of my sugar in-take.
For example, how much sugar is in that cookie🍪don’t forget to wash it down with some milk🥛Miss Karen, I say to myself.
This time, Father God, please help me follow through, in Jesus’s name.
Help me eat a salad🥗for a change.
One small step for man…
Anyways, guess what! Good👍news!
So, how did I lose the weight?
Answer: I stopped eating.
Five drumsticks “fried🍗chicken” minus one, minus another, and another, until I was left with a small portion of food or 1🍗drumstick.
With the Holy Spirit helping me, I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me; Philippians 4:13.
Y’all pray for me, ’cause you know the struggle is real. Please keep praying, thank you.
Update! Good News👍I can see my toes. Usually, my oversized muffin top or belly always got in the way, and I couldn’t see my toes. But today, I can see them. I’m making progress, y’all… Yay😊
The Holy Spirit also showed me that food became my “person.
Because I was always alone.
Food became the person I spent time with because it made me happy.
I feel like I’m going through a break-up. Food and I are no longer seeing each other. I miss my food or carbs and sweets. But I’m determined this time to have normal size bones. Y’all keep praying; it’s working. Anyway, it’s time for me to get my steps 🚶♀️in…or Holy Ghost🏋️♀️Gym song by Dj Nicholas.

Welcome, I'm Karen!
Hello friend! Writing has been my passion since I was nine. Winning my first writing contest at that young age inspired me to keep improving my skills. Fast forward to when I was 22 years old when I experienced a profound spiritual awakening that led me to become a devout Christian. From that point on, I knew that I wanted to use my writing abilities to spread the word of God and positively impact the world.
- Over the past 30 years, I have poured myself into my writing, producing a wide range of content that spans from letters to prisoners and newsletters to newspaper articles, books, and social media posts.
- For the past four years, I have even been contributing to the Churchome App, sharing my thoughts, insights, and experiences with the wider Christian community.
- I am particularly proud of my latest books, "Let's Make Love, Then Cook. It's Not What You Think" and "It's Just Good Housekeeping."
- "Let's Make Love, Then Cook. It's Not What You Think" is about loving God, loving people, and serving people.
- "It's Just Good Housekeeping." is about finding an attractive way to encourage everyone to read their Bible because reading the Bible has an impact on keeping our lives clean and pure.
These books are a testament to my love of writing, as well as my commitment to using that writing to inspire, inform, and entertain people from all walks of life.
